TROY, Ala. - No. 2 Alabama quickly disposed of Troy 11-0 in a six-inning shutout Thursday night in front of a Troy school-record crowd of 1,025 at the Trojan Softball Complex.
The Crimson Tide improved to 36-3 on the season and ran their all-time record against the Trojans to 11-0. Alabama has reeled off 15-straight wins while Troy falls to 24-18.
Kelsi Dunne (15-3) got the win in her 18th start of the season as she tossed five-scoreless innings and allowed just one hit. Chrissy Owens came on in relief and worked the final two innings, holding Troy hitless while surrendering just one walk and striking out one. Ashlyn Williams took the loss for the Trojans to fall to 20-11 on the season. She allowed six runs - four earned - in four innings before giving way to Cassie Lassister in the fifth. Lassister allowed five unearned runs on three hits with two walks.
