| Hot-hitting Alabama softball team TUSCALOOSA | The second-ranked University of Alabama softball team brought out its heavy bats in Lexington, Ky., last weekend, hitting 12 home runs in three games to clobber the Kentucky Wildcats three times by a combined 34-8 score. The Crimson Tide, which hadn’t hit a home run in three straight games going into the Kentucky series, dating back to a March 12 game against Florida, will try to bring some heavy hitting home tonight for a non-conference game against UAB. Alabama sophomore first baseman/pitcher Charlotte Morgan was responsible for four of the Tide’s dozen homers against the Wildcats. She tied the school single-game record with two home runs twice, doing it in consecutive games on Saturday, and earned Southeastern Conference Player of the Week honors. Morgan went 7-for-10 for the week, scoring six times and driving in a dozen runs. She also hit two doubles and stole a base in the series. Full Story
