Alabama Takes Lead In Bash for Cash

The University of Alabama announced involvement in the 2008 Gridiron Bash last Friday, and in the first release of the Bash for Cash Standings Thursday, UA is holding down the top spot. Following Alabama in the standings are Texas A&M, Penn State, Iowa, Colorado, Tennessee, Kansas State, Rutgers, Kentucky and South Carolina.



Fans may vote online at Gridiron Bash : The Ultimate Fan Competition or by texting BAMA to 23909 (at a cost of 99 cents per call). The top three universities with the highest number of votes/points (70% attendance, 30% fan votes) will share a total of $1,750,000 for scholarships. The winning school receives $1,000,000, second receives $500,000 and third receives $250,000.

The event will be held at Bryant-Denny Stadium on the evening of Friday
