TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – One week after attaining the nation’s top ranking in two national college softball rankings, The University of Alabama softball team holds top-five rankings in both national softball polls after the Crimson Tide took two of three games over last weekend at the University of Washington Classic.
Alabama earned the No. 2 ranking in the USA Today/NFCA top 25 poll released on Tuesday. Alabama was also ranked third ESPN.com/USA Softball poll also released Tuesday. Alabama received the most first-place votes in the USAToday/NFCA poll with 10, ahead of top-ranked Arizona State’s 9 first-place votes, but the Sun Devils lead the Tide in total voting points by a margin of 645 to 633. ASU had 10 first-place votes in the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll while both UCLA and Alabama had 4 each.
