Re: Alabama 2008 Football Signees

I think Saban will play the best group he can - realizing that next year will be a continuation of last year - i.e. building for the future with youth. He is not going to have the talent / experience to challenge for a top spot in the country (or SEC) next year so he may as well get the youngsters exerience and build some depth. JMHO

Saban has a class that can play talent wise with anybody. Georgia proved that freshmen can play in the "Big-Time" last season. Do not be so quick to discount the incoming class after all they were leaders at thier respective schools and many other schools sought them. Alabama will be very unique this season very talented and very young. These guys will grow up quick in Spring Training and be ready to play by A-Day.

Re: Alabama 2008 Football Signees

It is amazing how people are so obsessed with our recruiting classes. I think it is funny, really. I keep hearing constant speculation from OTHER teams fans about what we are going to do this season. They are really concerned. They are so scared that we are going to be a power in the SEC again. (we WILL)

I fully expect Saban to have another bumper crop of kids this year.

Re: Alabama 2008 Football Signees

Stoney you may get a pretty decent LB too. See this thread I posted on the UGA site.

Georgia withdraws offer to recruit

UGA is way short on slots for next year and have filled most of their needs.

From what I gather he is from Alabama anyway and was leaning towards the Tide.

Most likely you are correct. I haven't seen many players UGA targets that are on the Bama list and vice versa. Richt likes to stay in state and only goes after the real studs from other states to fill very specific needs.

The state Georgia has a ton of talent every year and if we can cherry pick the best why go out of state?

LMAO Bill will do ok for what they are trying to do but I doubt he will be after the same kids. They don't even have a football yet.

They might even call themselves the DAWGS too just to get some better players. Are you going to give them one of your footballs?
