Tide's Ronald Steele tired of sitting, aches to play basketball

TUSCALOOSA - Ronald Steele has watched games from the bench.
Too many, actually: Six last season. All 15 this season.
Thanks to his injured knees, the University of Alabama point guard is no stranger to the role of towel-waving mentor. But he's still not sure what tonight will be like as he sits in street clothes while the Crimson Tide (11-4) begins the Southeastern Conference season against two-time defending national champion Florida (13-2) at Coleman Coliseum. "I can only imagine ..." said Steele, the 6-foot-1 senior Birmingham native and John Carroll Catholic graduate. "The SEC is when it really counts. Being in that environment, it's going to be really hard. Hopefully, I (helped) the team get ready."
