Little is certain until after SEC title game
Steve Ehrhart realizes this week is the peak of the college bowl speculation season.
The executive director of the Liberty Bowl just isn't interested in participating in such speculation himself.
"It's been an amazing year in the SEC," Ehrhart said Monday. "Whoever we get, it's going to be a wonderful game. It could be one of three or four teams, maybe five. It's still wide open."
Among the popular speculation is that the Liberty Bowl would like to invite Alabama to play in its Dec. 29 game in Memphis.
And that's because the bowl this year is celebrating the 25th anniversary of Bear Bryant's final game - the 21-15 victory over Illinois in the Liberty Bowl.
Alabama officials have consulted with the Liberty Bowl in some aspects of preparing for the Bryant anniversary, not knowing at the time the Tide could have a front-row seat to the celebration.
