TUSCALOOSA -- Saturday began for Alabama with word from the NCAA that five players will be allowed back after a four-game suspension.
It ended with anxiety over what kind of team they're rejoining.
Coach Nick Saban's process has ground to a halt and the Tide is reeling after being blindsided by the most unlikely of visitors. Saturday's stunning 21-14 loss to Louisiana-Monroe, a 25-point underdog, rates among the worst in the history of a once-storied program. After swallowing an eighth consecutive loss in November, Alabama (6-5) must rebound with a trip to Auburn on the horizon and its own postseason hopes fading into doubt.

Saban and the Tide really need this win. I mean, ending the season 6-6 would be disappointing enough, but getting there with back to back losses - one to a cupcake and one to your hated rival? That would really be deflating, don't you think?
