TUSCALOOSA -- Kicker Leigh Tiffin was perhaps an overlooked star of Alabama's 27-24 win over Ole Miss on Saturday.
He booted the game-winning 24-yard field goal with 5:14 left to play.
Maybe it was a compliment to Tiffin that the kick seemed so ordinary. But linebacker Darren Mustin said the sophomore from Muscle Shoals deserved some praise.
After all, Tiffin missed some of those routine kicks last year.
"Leigh Tiffin, I'll take my hat off to that boy," Mustin said. "Last year, people wanted to kill him. Now, people want to praise him. He's doing a great job of making field goals, doing what he has to do."
Tiffin is 11-of-17 on field goals this season but has hit 6-of-7 lately.
