For all the talk of blown leads, defensive catastrophes, potential or past coaching changes and declining traditional powers, there is one undeniable aspect of Saturday's 11:30 a.m. showdown at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Unranked Alabama (5-2, 3-1 Southeastern Conference) and No. 20 Tennessee (4-2, 2-1) are each tied for respective divisional leads in a prodigious football league. Each controls its own destiny in reaching the SEC title game, and one side could take a large step in that direction this weekend.
