| `Not winning football' for Alabama JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The new reputation of the University of Alabama football team was there for all to see. A national televised game, a record crowd at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium, two of college football's most storied programs - this was a poster child for neutral-site games. That, however, turned out to be the downside. A nation trying to gauge Nick Saban's process may not have been impressed. Saban certainly wasn't. The No. 22 Crimson Tide lost 21-14 to Florida State in front of an announced crowd of 85,412 in the River City Showdown on Saturday without projecting the desired progress. Just remorse. "Not winning football, guys," Saban said. "We didn't want to come here and have any regrets about how we played. But I certainly feel like we have some. We had an opportunity to come here and improve our identity, and I'm not sure we did that." Alabama quarterback John Parker Wilson engineered two late scoring drives, capping them off with touchdown passes to DJ Hall and Keith Brown. The latter made it 21-14 with 59 seconds left, but an illegal touch by Alabama (3-2) on an on-sides kickoff attempt gave the Seminoles (3-1) the ball and secured the win. `Not winning football'- al.com
