| ALABAMA NOTEBOOK: Motley could play vs. FSU TUSCALOOSA -- Alabama nose tackle Brian Motley practiced Tuesday, a sign he could be available for Saturday's 4 p.m. game against Florida State. Motley worked in contact drills with the rest of the defensive linemen, showing no ill effects from the broken left ankle that caused him to miss Alabama's first four games. He was without a black, no-contact jersey for the first time since suffering the injury four days before the season opener against Western Carolina. Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban said last week that Motley would probably return to practice, but wouldn't be ready for "football-type work" until after this weekend's game against the Seminoles. "He is making really good progress," Saban said. Sophomore Lorenzo Washington has started in Motley's place, but Alabama is in dire need of depth at nose tackle. True freshmen Josh Chapman, Nick Gentry and Alfred McCullough have been top options behind Washington. For what it's worth, Chapman and McCullough were in scout team garb in practice Tuesday. -- OTHER INJURIES: Linebacker Darren Mustin remained in a black jersey Tuesday, though he participated in some drills. Mustin remains questionable for Saturday's game after suffering a stinger near his neck against Arkansas. Former UMS-Wright standout Preston Dial (shoulder) also wore a black jersey, but was running routes with the Tide's tight ends. ALABAMA NOTEBOOK: Motley could play vs. FSU- al.com
