| Luverne's Adams turns Tide fan to foe TUSCALOOSA - Chester Adams has been fielding questions all week. Georgia teammates want to know everything: What is Bryant-Denny Stadium like at night? How loud is it? And what about the fans? When No.16 Alabama hosts No.22 Georgia on Saturday at 6:45 p.m. (ESPN), "it's going to be pretty crazy," Adams tells them. The senior offensive tackle isn't the only Bulldog who has watched a game in Tuscaloosa, which last hosted Alabama vs. Georgia in 2002. But he's the one with the deepest background. Adams is more than the only Alabamian on the Georgia roster. He also grew up "A Roll Tide fan" since he was little, he said, and "always watched them on TV." So how did the Luverne native end up a Bulldog? "Things change," said the 6-foot-4, 335-pounder, who is nicknamed The Big Cheese. Actually, Adams' story is a little more complicated than that. At Luverne High, he was a highly touted prospect and a Birmingham News all-state selection. Current UAB coach Neil Callaway, then Georgia's offensive line coach, had an old friend who was Luverne High's head coach. The friend recommended Adams. His name? Mike Dubose.
