Alabama notebook: Lowe, Pennington simulate McFadden

Lowe, Pennington simulate McFadden

TUSCALOOSA - Punt returner Jonathan Lowe has been studying tape of Arkansas All-America tailback Darren McFadden.

Not so he can stop him but so he can be like him.

Lowe is one of two players this week in practice with the job of giving the defense a simulation of what they will see Saturday from McFadden.

Lowe said he is handling the role as a runner while walk-on receiver Kyle Pennington - a high school quarterback - is simulating the passing aspects of McFadden's game.

"I've just been trying to give the defense the best look I can because they know they have a challenge coming in this weekend," said Lowe, a junior transfer from Mississippi State. "I'm just trying to do my job, whatever I have to do to give these guys a good look to prepare for Saturday."

Lowe said he has watched McFadden on tape so he can know what looks to give the defense. "He's an awesome player," Lowe said. "Nobody can deny that. It's hard trying to emulate him because he's such an exceptional player and exceptional athlete."

Re: Alabama notebook: Lowe, Pennington simulate McFadden

Here is the key-

3-3-5

Zone dog blitz
Corner blitz
All out blitz
Safety Blitz
Spy Robber
Cover 2

Blitz, Blitz, Blitz knock the QB down. Then concentrate on McFadden. If Alabama does this well Arkansas will be looking at a lot of 3 & Outs. Alabama needs to have sustained offensive drives that eat up the clock. Slow and steady movement of the ball crisp clean passes and a running game of our own will defeat the Razorbacks.
