| McCoy real threat for Tide offense Exit Brown, whose status was announced Monday. Enter sophomore Mike McCoy, whose emergence has been one of the surprises of the fall. The Rankin, Miss., native worked with the first unit most of camp, slightly ahead of junior Nikita Stover. Last season, he played only five snaps and did not catch a pass. Now, he's a starter. McCoy said he is ready for what it will be like running into a packed Bryant-Denny Stadium for the first time as a regular. "A-Day pretty much got me prepared for that, with a big ol' crowd out there," said the 6-foot-3, 199-pound McCoy.
