ALABAMA QUICK NOTES:

Alabama head coaches are 20-6 (.769) in their head coaching debuts. Coach Saban’s first game at LSU was also against Western Carolina. The Tigers won that game 58-0. Alabama won the only previous meeting with Western Carolina, posting a 52-0 win over the Catamounts on Sept. 18, 2004. Junior quarterback John Parker Wilson set seven school records last season as a sophomore. Senior wide receiver DJ Hall set three school records in 2006. Hall and Keith Brown combined for 1,646 yards last season to become the most prolific pass-catching duo in school history. Alabama is 88-21-3 (.799) all-time in season openers, including a five-game winning streak. The Alabama football roster contains 127 players. There are 68 players (53.5 percent) on this year’s opening day roster that have never played a game for the Crimson Tide.

Bama should be pumped for their first game after all the hoopla in the off-season. Of course they'll win, but will it be a total romp...or a scary nailbiter?

It will be impressive, I just want to see who has stepped up to take leadership of the team. Secondly I want to see some full contact and see who is going to be the playmaker.

For once, I'll agree with Stoney in that I think 'Bama will win tonights game in no uncertain fashion. I'm talking at least 15-25+ point difference.

That Grant kid looks impressive. Yahoo's a bit behind on the game, but they've got him averaging 8.4 yards per carry with 2 TDs already.
