TUSCALOOSA - The talk sounds good. The attitude sounds better.
But you've heard about how talk is really inexpensive.

"It's put up or shut up time pretty much," Lorenzo Washington said.
And that pretty much scores a 10 on the bluntness meter for Alabama's sophomore nose tackle.

He may well have Tide fans nodding in agreement, waiting for this 6-foot-4, 283-pound picture of potential to become something more.

Washington was a signing day darling back in February 2004, one of the jewels in former coach Mike Shula's NCAA probation-reduced first signing class.

Washington was such a recruiting star, he announced his college on regional TV throughout the South and donned an Alabama hat - a border victory won over Georgia for the Logansville, Ga., native.

Three years later, that's still Washington's college highlight.
"I've been ready since I signed the dotted line three years ago," Washington said. "You hear people saying stuff and people talking, it's time for me to do it."
