Sophomore looks to help Alabama's field position

TUSCALOOSA - Javier Arenas returns kickoffs for Alabama. So Javier Arenas is excited.

With the new rule change in effect for this season that moves the kickoffs from the 35-yard line to the 30, more returns and fewer touchbacks are expected.

So Arenas is excited.
"It's going to be a benefit, of course, toward the returners," Arenas said. "It gives us a better opportunity to set up our offense in good field position."

The new rule is expected to shake up college football this season, making kickoff returns more common and the touchbacks more rare.

It's a change that Tide coach Nick Saban favors.
