BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC-TV MyFoxAL.com) -- Alabama cornerback Simeon Castille was arrested early Sunday morning according to Tuscaloosa Police. Castille was allegedly arrested at 2 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct but was later released after posting a 500 dollar bond.

Police say they are still investigating.

I don't think he should recieve any special treatment. He broke team rules and should be punished like any other player of less importance to the team would be. As a senior he should be setting an example for the incoming freshmen.

Let's see what Saban has to say... if Simeon is in the wrong he will really regret it. That said there may be more to the story than we know. It will all come to light here shortly. You can bet the team is dissappointed in his conduct especially after Saban set up accountability.

According to Fox 6 News yesterday afternoon, Simeon said when he asked some other bama players if they wanted 2 fight, he was just kidding around. When those other three bama players were arrested, Saban didnt tell the press what punishment would be given. I suppose we'll have to wait and see when the season begins. I'm going to watch the "Tider Insider" tonight. If I hear anything about this issue, I'll give you guys an update.

Here is the scoop.....

Arresting Officer is an Auburn fan. No drugs or alcohol were involved. Simeon Castille and a couple of teammates were horseplaying when the officer approached them. They identified themselves as Alabama Football Players so the Officer says "So your Saban's boys Eh? Well let him come get you out of jail." The Tuscaloosa police department is in hot water over this incident. You can expect all charges to be dropped and the officer disciplined if not fired.

TUSCALOOSA - University of Alabama cornerback Simeon Castille's arrest for disorderly conduct early Sunday morning was "lawful," according to Tuscaloosa police spokesman Capt. Greg Kosloff.

Kosloff did not provide additional details of the incident because the investigation is ongoing, but he disagreed with the views of Simeon's father Jeremiah. Early Monday, the former Tide All-American said the arrest "wasn't warranted."

"I certainly understand a parent taking up for his child," Kosloff said later in the day. "But this is something that was lawful. We're not going to respond to that. That's why you have the courts."

just read this entire thread for the first time ....... sounds like a heck of an ABC After School Special

glad to see you Tide fans agree the law is the law and Saban needs to handle it like if he were any player .... which to me means suspension if youre arrested and convicted, it embarrasses the program i would think

The truth is the cope overreacted especially if you read the total report. Before it is over with the DA willdrop the charges and officer Mitchell will attend a diversity and ethics class for remedial education.

To answer your question about Saban's comments, Stoney; he did exactly as he has done in the past and said the matter would be addressed "internally". Some of the people who witnessed the ordeal said they thought an arrest could have been avoided. From what I gathered after reading the arrest report, I agree with their assessment. Since no actual fight broke out, it seems to me the officer could have handled the situation without hawling him off to jail.

Saban will handle it. If a suspension is needed, thats what Castille will get. If its not needed Castille will continue on as if nothing happened. I do have confidence in Saban as far as things like this go.
