Saban serves Kool-Aid to 95,000

This is what Alabama football is all about. I don't know of any other school that had to turn fans away from standing room in the parking lot. Even building tops of adjoining edifices were loaded. No telling how many saw it on TV and how many more listened to it on radio. Make no mistake Bama is Back! Saban looked distinguished and ready to tear someone a new one at the same time. That reminded me of Bear Bryant he had class and only chewed his players out in private even though he wanted to wring thier necks right then and there.R-E-S-P-E-C-T that is what he earned and gave his team confidence to execute plays. I been tell Ya'll for several months this was going to be the year. Maybe some of you might start feeling more confident in jumping on the BCS bet now. Come on the Million Dollar Band just played Rammer Jammer.... The Bandwagon is about to get started rolling so grab your Kool-Aid and get on board!

Simple and all the others should sit up and take notice Alabama is about to be rewarded for thier faithfulness. National title 13 is coming in 2007.

WHAT?!

One spring practice/exhibition is suppose to mean anything?

Am I missing something?

Alabama may improve slightly this season, but there's no way they will be BCS Bowl successful.

Oh ye of little faith.... Alabama was leading every game last year and failed because of leadership and time management. Now we have a proven leader who will manage to win another national title this year. Who else had 95,000 in the stands and turned away several thousand more fans from the parking lot? Is there another school with such a following? Yes you are missing something a Crimson Tide Avatar and a passion for football.

Re: Saban serves Kool-Aid to 95,000

Obviously there's a ton of excitement, but that has nothing to do with a cause/effect on the team's performance (meaning the 95,000 won't boost the team to winning more games).

Dissapointment is in your future

Penn State had 71,000 fans. So what? Doesn't mean they'll be a better team for it. Neither will you guys. If you're a better team this year, you're a better team this year. But prove it on the field, not with meaningless attendance statistics. All that proves is that you guys love your Tide football, good or bad.

Worried? Not sure what in the world gave you that impression.

None of those 95k fans are suiting up this year for the Tide. Just remember that.

Re: Saban serves Kool-Aid to 95,000

No debate from anyone on 1 fact, Saban has been a huge shot in the arm for the Tide. 95,000 is more than most college fans will ever see at their biggest football game, much less a practice.

I don't think that this year's W/L record should be Saban's measuring stick. If he can win it all, it'll ensure his place in Alabama football lore.... that is, until he has a couple losing seasons

Anyway, I'm looking forward to having one of the nation's top programs back in the top rankings again.

Yeah, I agree. I know I sound confrontational at times, but I really do wish the Tide the best of luck as well. Your program has been through a lot and I'd really like to see such a tradition-rich football team start to claw it's way back into the BCS hunt.

They don't have to they just contributed the money necessary to bring Saban on board. Not to mention the upgrade in the facilities. So keep this in mind yeah we the fans can't suit up but we can say who does coach and that means alot.

Re: Saban serves Kool-Aid to 95,000

Well in Saban's speaches and interviews he has said that the attitude of fans alumni and players had to change. Now for the first time in more years than I can remember the Alabama nation has something that has been absent for years HOPE.

With a new coach and resurected pride and excitement of fans should carry over to the players . Maybe knowing that fans think the players can win the player will play harder and smarter to meet the expectations.

This is one Bama fan that is happy to hear fans talking positive intead of, well maybe we can win next week.

BCS or not Bama has a new attitude and new found pride and our team will win some games that the experts will say we can't.

Be careful. This could easily backfire. You never know which way the football will bounce, and too much pressure from high expectations could lead to disaster.

Agreed. That is a perfectly sane comment.

The pressure of meeting expectations will be something that the players will be conditioned for. Saban as a coach will keep expectations high and will settle for no less than 100% effort from his players. Dealing with performing under pressure and high expectations are all part of being an upper rated team.
