| Re: Saban Makes Staff duties official As far as why he's that way, I think he wants his players to just focus on football and school and not be distracted by outside forces. The other reason is he likes to put the responsibility on his shoulders. He also doesn't want a player saying something that can come back to haunt them. Players will be instructed and coached in how to handle the media. Now, after games, certain players will be chosen to speak to the media in post game interviews, and reporters can request certain players. Saban is usually good about allowing that especially if the team wins. But once again, Never ever a Freshman. I also think it has to do with team chemistry. A player's mouth can do more to disrupt team chemistry in a 2 minute interview than can be repaired in an entire season.
