| Re: Bama, The Most Hated SEC Team? The Crimson Tide is hated AND feared. Hated because we finally obtained a coach who is capable of bringing our team back to the glory days. Feared for the same reason. That's why our adversaries are so upset. That's why they're talking so much smack. If they didn't consider Bama a threat and were confident in their own abilities, they would simply be indifferent. Can they keep their fat mouths shut and totally ignore us? No (expletive deleted) way!

That being said, I agree they probably are the most hated team in the SEC, at least right now they are. |

Who does ESPN / ABC hate? What about NBC {Irish TV}? When has FOX carried a ALABAMA game? Who does CBS [Cant' believe Sh--] love? What about sportswriters and radiohosts? Who do they hate? It certainly isn't Notre Dame. Most of you guys aren't even old enough to remember the football history of the 1960's. Alabama won the National Title in 1964 and repeated in 1965. Then Alabama went undefeated in 1966 but the sportswriters gave the title to Notre Dame because they came back to tie Michigan. Name another school who was robbed that way.... You can't! Why do you think it is that everytime there is the rumor of a scandal at Alabama there is a gleeful report by the media? It is a "Hatred" of Alabama if it isn't then let's see how much of a penalty is given to Notre Dame for recruiting violations or even USC for that matter. Nobody catches the hell Alabama has nobody... that's why when Saban chose to come to Alabama the first thing detracters did was to demonize the man. Even Ray Charles saw the discrimination against Alabama. |

| Re: Bama, The Most Hated SEC Team? Call me out all you want, it doesn't change the truth. Who does ESPN / ABC hate? From ESPN's Mark Schlabach: "Even without record-setting quarterback Brady Quinn, receiver Jeff Samardzija and many more of its best players next season, Notre Dame will finally end its postseason drought, now the longest in NCAA history... The Fighting Irish will end the postseason losing streak that dates back to 1994 because next season they'll be playing in some second-tier bowl game in a nondescript place like Shreveport, La., which is where they should have been playing during much of the last two decades... Against LSU, Notre Dame once again proved it doesn't deserve to play in BCS bowl games, which have become its birthright because of the school's national stature and ability to draw high TV ratings." What about NBC? Can't count NBC... they're in bed in the Irish. Of COURSE they're not gonna trash their cash cow! When has FOX carried a ALABAMA game? When has FOX carried a Notre Dame game? Fox doesn't carry Bama because CBS has SEC rights. Who does CBS love? Bama, and all the other SEC teams -- remember, they have the TV deal for you guys. And in terms of CBS loving Notre Dame? From CBS Sportsline's Gregg Doyel: "Most of the time, it's perfectly acceptable and maybe even a little bit fun to hate Notre Dame... The Fighting Irish have never offended me personally, but if you want to despise Notre Dame for its corporate haughtiness, its snobbery, its mistreatment of Tyrone Willingham or the arrogance of the football coach who replaced him, go for it." And finally, just check out our own Notre Dame forum sometime. I suggest you start here, but there are plenty of others.

| Re: Bama, The Most Hated SEC Team? I wish ESPN would conduct a poll on their website. Betcha Bama would be the most despised football team in the nation, hands down! More than likely, Notre Dame would come in second. (In the case of Notre Dame, I'm referring to the votes of football fans. Not the media) I agree with Stoney. Wait and see what sanctions are imposed on the schools that are under investigation. I'm willing to bet that USC manages to squirm out of their predicament altogether. Does anyone really believe Reggie Bush is in jeopary of losing his Heisman trophy? As far as the McKnight controversy goes, that's presumed to have been resolved already. He "misspoke". |
