Oh, you guys, no doubt. Hey, I give credit where credit is due. Bama has some of the most dedicated fans I've ever seen, no doubt about it. But that doesn't change the fact that Saban only has a .683 winning percentage in the NCAA and unless he recruits an entire team of Percy Harvins, he won't win the SEC next season. In 2-3 years, maybe, but not next season.

If he gets our quarterback position and defense back on track, Alabama will have a very good year next season. The season after that I would think he will turn heads nationally and in the SEC. It's the high expectations for 2007 that I think are unrealistic. |

Oh ye of little faith... Saban said let my people go.... to the BCS BOWL. And the crimson seas parted and they entered in to the promised land. |

Some people have the desire to constantly try and dash those hopes. Those who feel compelled to make snide comments and call us dilusional. Let me say this to those who taunt, scorn and insult us. We WILL NOT sucomb. We are strong. We are invincible.... WE ARE BAMA!!! Many thanks to all Tide forum members who keep the faith.

| Re: Florida 30 days later... Excitement is well and good. It's the trash-talking teams like Florida, Auburn -- teams that are and have been light years ahead of you guys for years now -- like you guys have dominated them in recent years and like there's no chance you're going to lose to them this year that bothers me. Guess I just have a pet peeve about cases in which fandom blinds people to a point where they can't realistically appraise their teams and analytically break down their club's strengths and weaknesses, and come up with an honest appraisal of where they are and an achievable set of expectations. |

| Re: Florida 30 days later... I wasn't referring to the team. I was talking about the fans. We have and will continue to pack our stadium and cheer our players on win or lose. I have no great expectations for next season. I only expect to see steady improvement in the years to come. (as I have said before) The only thing i wished to express was the fact that people who continually bombard us with negativity will not break our spirit. So go ahead and blow your horn. I'm looking forward to the day when you have to eat your words. Btw, if Tennessee ever DOES rule, i'll be the first to admit it. I respect all NCAA teams. That doesn't mean I have to like them. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but when you have another losing season....and you will, dont expect to see me in your forum telling you how much you suck. I will never initiate mud slinging. I will only respond if you bring it to MY doorstep. |

Have you taken a look at who has the #1 Recruiting class in the nation? That's right the Gators. They have talent on top of talent and as long as they keep on winning the recruits will keep comming. I Love Alabama Football and will always be a loyal fan but let's give credit where credit is due, Florida destroyed Ohio State and The Gator players said themselves that Ohio State was not the best team that they had played. Bama played them closer than Ohio State. Like I said I am a Bama fan trough and through butI will give credit where it is due. I always want the Tide to win the west and even the SEC, but will always pull for an SEC team against a non confrece team. Ohio State has never defeated an SEC team in a bowl game. I am married to a Gator fan and trust me just because you don't see a large number of posts on this site Gator fans have just as much pride and support their team as well as anyone, they just do it in different ways. most of my in-laws are season ticket holders for the gators, and boy when they go to the games they are having as much fun tailgaiting and cheer as loud as any fans, ever been to a game in the swamp? We can love the Crimson Tide and still respect another teams talent and achievments. Roll Tide and Go Gators |

Do you honestly believe that Bama can out recruit the Gators? I keep hearing that Saban is great at recruiting and from the list of commits I am impressed but the gators are the defending national champions in both football and basketball. It took Urban Meyer four years to achieve a one loss season in the SEC. an SEC championship and National championship. The only way Saban is going to get some of the top players to sign is to promice the player and their families that they will play as true freshmen. If the big time recruits you want are going to have to sit for a full red shirt year they will sign with who they think will win their confrence. Our time to be back on top is comming but it will take a few years of steady improvement and Saban proving that he is going to be Bama's coach for a long time. |
