Question Non confrence opponents

I would like to know if there is anyone out there, other than myself,
That would like to see Alabama's non confrence schedule strenthened. Florida State is a Quality opponent, Houston can be a threat, but if we want to seriously be considered a national power I am not sure that West Carolina is a help. I personally would like to see Bama have the toughest schedule of any team in the country. I know Bama my not be ready this year but I would like to see Notre Dame or Southern Cal on the schedule.

I am really tired of hearing strenth of schedule for SEC teams. To be reconized as the best you must compete against the best.

Notre Dame has ducked us since 1973 and Southern Cal says we already play Tennesee. It is all about the dollars besides who wants to get thier national championship hopes dashed by Alabama?

Notre Dame would be a great addition ... they are always over hyped and over rated, so beating them would look more impressive than it really is.

Since 1966 the Catholics said "We don't play bowl games." Then they changed thier minds. Notre Dame doesn't want Alabama to mop the floor with them.

1966 ... isn't that about the last time Notre Dame won a bowl?

9 losses in a row ... they keep putting them in bowls that they are not good enough to be in ....

They would have finished at best 4th in the Big Ten conference if they joined.

OSU
Michigan
Wisconsin ... definitely better

That is what they get for playing school of the blind and the armed forces. Notre Dame is a complete sham and got exposed. But you can bet next year all the Catholic sportswriters will be touting them all over again.

Re: Non confrence opponents

The BCS needs to step up and make them abide by the same rules as every other at large team.

Strength of Schedule alone will keep them out of the BCS. They will be in the shape of Boise State ... win them all and still get a lower BCS game.

Notre Dame has not been a good football team since Lou Holtz left.

Charlie Weis has shown nothing so far and that was with Heisman winner runner up Brady Quinn.

My preference would be to making them join the big ten and splitting the conference in two ... like the SEC. Make them play a conference championship like the good conferences do.

If that happens, we don't have to worry about a possible Michigan vs. Ohio State game.

Yeah, the way you have squashed the hopes of Tennessee Florida and LSU since the mid 1990's. Even Auburn too.

Let's see... yeah that's the date... the third Saturday in October. We'll see how bad Bama beats you it won't be by a 6-3 like under Shula. Although I must admit that was one of the most satisfying wins all my mother's folks in Oak ridge {Right beside Knoxville} cried and cried over that win. Just you wait Domination Nation is coming the Alabama Crimson Tide of old that struck fear in your hearts is coming back into power this season 2007 BCS Championship National Title# 13 is coming to T-town.

I could not agree more. The days of an independent teams are over. They should be in a conference. I would love to see them in the Big 10 so Ohio St. can wipe the field up with them every year.

I have been wanting a championship game in the Big 10 for years. It would make the season more exciting. There have been years where you know who is winning the division before the seasons over.

Pretty bad you cried over a win against a team that finished 5-6.

Bama should beat Tennessee, but as far as titles, you will win nothing next year.

Rome wasn't built in a day and a championship football team isn't built in one season. I'm not expecting miracles. I'm expecting steady progress. I've been a loyal Bama fan all my life. I supported them wholeheartedly when they were down and I'm looking forward to seeing them improve under the leadership of coach Saban. For the first time in a long time Bama fans can be optomistic. Whether we win nothing next year is yet to be seen.

Read it again my Mother's folks in Tennesee "CRIED" over losing to Bama. I just found it satisfying. At the time Tennesee was looking impressive. The loss to Alabama is what sent them into a downward spiral. Heck they {Tennesee}are probably headed to another 5-6 season. If you're lucky they will fire Fulmer and promote Cutcliffe.

When Alabama beats them they bang them up so bad and hurt thier confidence that they become suspect to other teams.
