Saban looked so lost at that news conference, like a deer in headlights, and thank goodness the media asked him the tough questions -- like whether or not he was quitting on the Dolphins and where his next stop would be. I just wish they would've pushed the issue instead of accepting his cute, smarmy answers. Everybody and their mothers know this guy, if he's not fired for poor performance by then, will bail in 2-3 seasons for his next big payday.

The Dolphins are going to be interesting. With Jason Taylor thinking of retiring and I've heard rumors that Zack Thomas may too, and with no clear starting qb, he left them in worst shape than i thought possible.

It's going to be tough to resurrect that team right away.

Maybe that is the real reason he left ... he knew that those people were retiring and the team sucked to begin with.

He knew he was in over his head.

Some people don't like to build a program, they like to walk into a situation where they can coach up the current players.

From what I understand, Bama is loaded with talent, and Shula could not get it out of them ...

Therefore, Saban steps in and gets 8-9 wins out of them, and looks like a coaching genius! Not a bad plan.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — As Nick Saban sat in his new office, he expressed some of the frustrations he dealt with in his old one.


The former Dolphins coach, who was introduced Thursday as the new head coach at Alabama, said he had trouble working with General Managers Rick Spielman and Randy Mueller during his two years in Miami.

He also said he left the Dolphins in better shape than he found them, despite his losing record in two seasons as head coach.


"I affected the team in a positive way," he said.

The coaches have no say so in what happens with players being traded or retiring or what the players do off the field. Not to mention if the owner sells the franchise like Dallas did. Remember what Jerry Jones did? Let me remind you he fired the coach and brought in Jimmy Johnson. Saban was... [comments defending Saban were edited out].
