Ok, I have seen a lot of threads on here that people have posted about being excited about our new coach, and what we as Bama fans think he can and will do for our program. This is the hope we have needed for a long time. None of us know if it will or will not work out in the long run, but as of now this is what we need to give us a second will and the faith we were so quickly losing. Please if on no other thread, let this one be only for Bama fans to post their joy, or if other teams fans want to say something positive. Today is the press conference and a new day for us. Please let us have this one thread for just that, to Celebrate! Thanks!! ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!

You go, girl! There has been much celebrating in the Alabama-fan side of my family. My cousin, who lives in Knoxville, says he watched the announcement with tears in his eyes. I felt as if a weight had been lifted off of my shoulders, and I'm not one who lives\dies according to what Alabama does on Saturday. I became a Mrs. Saban fan after watching her arrival in Tuscaloosa, and her warm response to welcome they received. So what if Nick's not a warm and fuzzy sort of guy? We've been there\done that, and it didn't win us many football games. My hope is that he will take firm control of our team and give those guys the discipline and leadership that they need. After hearing that Saban was definitely coming, I jokingly made the comment, "Well, we have finally gotten what we've wanted...The second coming of The (A) Bear!"

I know, I am so excited I can't stand it. I mean as much as I don't like some teams, i.e. Auburn or Tenn, as a human you just wouldn't want to see a team stay down as long as we have. We have been through everything possible it seems, and even though some of it is our own fault, it is our time, and we deserve it. I was getting so discouraged seeing a thread that looked exciting and but there was ALWAYS a post from someone negative. I just wanted one I could come to and feel good! Almost time to the PC, I can hardly wait!! I hope he puts on a Bama hat or something! ROLL TIDE!!

Good plan, BamaGirl29. We've done positive-/negative- only threads before and this is a good situation for that again. It gives both sides a place to speak their minds without getting interrupted by the other side.

I've added some ground rules for this thread in your 1st post. Any negative comments will be moved to the Nick Saban Sucks thread.

Congratulations to Alabama & Saban!
This is the best possible hire for Alabama and really better than I thought was realistically possible. Saban is a proven winner with experience in the SEC and a BCS title. He knows what he's getting into and it looks like he can handle the spotlight.

I'm convinced that the Crimson Tide will be back in the top 10 very quickly with Saban in charge. A strong Alabama is good for the SEC and good for college football as a whole. Good luck except for the 3rd Saturday in October

Check the auburnfootball.com site comments about what a liar Nick Saban is. After the way Tuberville really LIED LIKE A DOG about not talking to Auburn a couple of weeks after it was a done deal. I think it's great Saban is at Alabama. Like a caller on the Paul Finebaum show said, "Old Lee Harvey Oswald will be in the liquor cabinet today for sure down on the plains". It was pretty obvious the way things played out that Nick Saban didn't make a final decision until the talked with the Dolphins owner.

You have heard the old saying "The Man With The Plan", well Nick Saban is the "Man With The Plan To Bring Alabama Back To The National Championship". During his introduction speech he did not spew out a time line, he laid down his plan to win a Championship coaching at the Crimson Tide . He is definitely what our team needs and I have no doubts that he will deliver.

He said, every player has a clean slate and a legitimate chance to win a starting position. Just watch in the next couple of weeks and months the quality recruits that come to our program because he is there.

WHY NICK SABAN ROCKS:
Just look at the enthusiasm in Tuscaloosa right now. Heck, just look at the enthusiasm on these boards! The Bama football program has been down and haters have been kicking their carcass lately, but ever since the Saban hiring, it's like new life is flowing through the team and their fans! Recruits are already getting more and more jacked up at playing for the Tide, and the on-field talent should improve by leaps and bounds. Without his even coaching a down, it's like the Bama tradition is already back from its brief hiatus, and it's all thanks to Nick Saban.

Thanks for your thread BamaGirl and from one Bamagirl to another-Roll Tide! Yesterday was a great day for Bama football- Saban became our coach and Ryans won defensive Rookie of the Year! I guess the Texans should have chosen him first and left Williams for the 2nd round. Yes it is a glorous day in Bama and eventhough I live in Ga my heart will always be in Bama!

I can imagine you guys are as excited to have SAban as we were to hear that Spurrier was coming to USC!

I feel you guys are in the same boat as we are though. You can't really fire the guy, because he had so much success in other places. You just pray he can do it at Bama too!

I think you got a great coach that should be very motivated after hearing all the negative stuff about him the last couple of days. He should be out to prove that he can bring you guys back to the NC days.

Saban is our General George S. Patton. He will cut through a bunch of red tape to get things done. He will not accept defeat. He will push his players and staff to get the most possible out of them. He will make men out of boys and great leaders out of men. He will restore the pride to the capstone and usher in an era of national respect for program. The best part is all we have to do is just sit back and root our teams to victory. Nick is one of the brightest and best coaches in college football today. So let the naysayers and smacktalkers run thier mouths "Bama is Back"! So load up on Dreamland BBQ this will be our best season since 92.
