Wink happy about new football coach at U of Alabma

Very glad that Alabama hired Coach Nick Saban for the long haul. I feel that this is a very positive addition to the football program at Alabama and that Coach Saban will bring energy, vision and leadership to this legacy.

It will be nice to not hear any more negative things about Alabama not being able to hire a good coach since they semed to get rid of Coach Shula very quickly without much discussion. All in all I think is that this new hiring will work out in the long run as Saban seems to want to get back to the SEC and the small town laid back life style in the Piney woods of Sweet Home Alabama . Oh yeah ,Roll Tide, Bama Nation.:roll eyes:

Welcome aboard, bev, and thanks for joining us!

Though not a Bama fan myself, I'd like to see you guys become a title contender again. It's been a tough decade or so for your program. Glad you guys have someone you can hang your hat on, though I'm not 100% sure he's as dedicated to the Bama program as some of you all think. Was Saban the guy you wanted personally?

Yeah buddy, he understands politic'in in the South and is a name brand coach nationwide. My alternate was Gruden either one would have done a great job. I am thrilled about the hire.

Personally, I am very pleased with Saban - I had given up on him after he said he wasn't going to be "coaching alabama." But, really I would have been pleased with any coach with a "name." I was getting tired of Bama becoming a "stepping stone" and/or a training camp for college coaches. For goodnes sakes we are talking about the University of Alabama Football - not some Division 2 college.

Well now you can don your Crimson & White and parade about because we have something to cheer about.

Saban was not my prime personal pick as i did not think Bama could hire him but as i found out more about his upbrining in West Virginia and his work ethic, I found him very interesting. so all in all ,I think he just may be the one to take Bama back or forward to fullfill its major goal of being in the top five or better.
I want someone with some major positive ethics and loyality to the program that will lead these players to graduation and staying on a path to taking care of good healthy humanitarian goals in trying to be worthwhile citizens and beating dear ole Auburn.

I hadn't stopped wearing my "bama stuff" anyway - I am a fan to the team (win or loose) but I am looking forward to purchasing more game shirts with wins.

I was a little embarrassed, though, about that drunk lady that welcomed the coach at the airport. - It is giving the Auburn fans something to laugh about anyway.
