You may not be too far off from the truth there Empire. Bear left Texas A&M about the same way. Both have had success at other colleges. Both are passionate men who deeply care about thier families. Sadly Bear doesn't get to show up to the games anymore. But if he were still alive I think he would have been quite pleased with the choice that Mal made this time. Now if Saban dons a hound's tooth cap..... to quote Kieth Jackson "WOAH NELLY!!!!". It would be on. I was fortunate to have met the late Bear Bryant he was a living legend at the time. Given time I think Nick will do justice to the insatiable appetite of Alabama fans.

Are you an Alabama alumni? If so, did you major in Homerism? By the way, I have watched enough of Alabama football to know that they will not make a BCS Bowl barring a miracle.

Your quarterback is John Parker Wilson, for starters. Unless he improves by leaps and bounds, it will not happen. On top of that, your ground game is saturated with uncertainty. Kenneth Darby is gone after this year, as are both fullbacks in LeRon McClain and Tim Castille. If I recall correctly, your graduating a few hogs along the offensive line too.

There are even question marks at defense. Your losing the cog on the interior of the defensive line in Jeremy Clark. The stud of the linebackers in Juwan Simpson is gone and so is Ramzee Robinson in the secondary.

Your setting yourself up for disappointment if you keep ranting and raving about a BCS Bowl. The Crimson Tide may cement themselves on the National Stage once again, but programs aren't rebuilt overnight.
