Saban will not be Alabama's next coach

How many times does Saban have to say he's not coming to Alabama. I would love to see it, but I don't believe it. With the season in both college and the NFL almost over it seems like there will be alot of possible canidates for the job: Jim Mora of Atlanta looks to be on his way out, possible head coach of NY Giants. I still believe, however AU has already made an agreement with someone or with all the silence they are not looking. I do wish they would hurry up and do something not only for the players, students, but also us fans as it may hurt recruiting. I have already heard about a couple of highly touted players looking at other colleges.

Re: Saban will not be Alabama's next coach

Last night during the MNF Game, one of the "reporters" said Alabama wants Nick Saban and he's #1 on their list. The one thing he misses is the teaching aspect of college football. However, he's loyal to the Dolphins owner. Alabama plans on waiting until the end of the NFL season and after the college bowls before they give one last try to get Saban.

So I don't think they have any secret deals with anyone at this point.

You must have not seen the interview last week.... When pushed he couldn't look anyone in the eyes and say he wasn't coming.... he looked like a kid that just got caught with his hand in the cookie jar..... and this is dead time anyways..... no rush.... I don't think ppl start recruiting again until the 2nd week of Jan.

Saban is not coming. The question is if Moore is waiting on Johnson or the Wake Forest coach then Bama botched this thing. They should have had #2 ready and interviewed before offering RR and then moved quickly when he turned them down. In the event somebody big is coming of corse that is different.

Re: Saban will not be Alabama's next coach

A possible conspiracy theory is that UA University of Alabama not AU (Auburn University) botched the deal with Spurrier when it went public. The money offered to him was 30 mil for 4 years. However, when the press got a hold of it SS said publicly he wasn't interested. Silently he will take the job after the bowls, so Alabama made an offer to RR at WV real low, so WV could counter to keep him their. (Would RR even think about coming to UA when it was made public the money offered to SS the week earlier. They never were interested with RR. UA just needed to throw the press off and allow Spurrier time to finish out the season. Saban is also, thrown in as a decoy from the press. RAMA JAMA GIVE'EM HELL ALABAMA

I always said Alabama has a tenative deal struck with someone or they would not be this much silence. I may be wrong but I do think it will be another college coach. Again nothing in concrete just an opinion.

why would he be waiting on them... their season is done over besides the bowl and if they wanted the job and UA wanted one of them then I would suspect UA would make them sign right away besides waiting this long.... I still think it is someone in the NFL whether it be Saban or not I have no idea and neither do you

So why is the 12/29 edition of the Huntsville Times reporting that "Alabama will make one last overture to Saban after the season" if a deal is already in place. Sorry, I don't buy it. Saban may wind up coaching Bama, but I can't believe a deal is already in place.

There is silence because they messed up soooo bad with Rodrigues and telling he was coming before he was. They can not afford another bobble like that!!!!

I agree with you. There is a deal already struck and we will not find out until either tomorrow or Tuesday. You can bet there is a back up plan in case something goes crazy. My opinion, Saben and then Gruden as the back up.

Do you not think the top 5 at Michigan or a national championship at LSU qualifies as being able relate to the teaching aspect of college football? His loyalty is to M O N E Y. If Bama offers him the renumeration that would exceed his currant level of income, I would think he would consider it. His wife does not like Miami area and Tuscaloosa is one hell of a lot cheaper to live than Dade County FL. please re-evaluate!!! No one knows anything until Tuesday (or Maybe Monday). Let's see what happens.
