Re: Will he accept?

and im not being nasty, look spurrier and saban are great college coaches but neither were special in the nfl. And on the waiting to here from saban coach rod kept saying he wasnt leaving and he never did but everyone in alalbama yes including some other people thought it was a done deal. So im just saying lets wait till we know. Hell everyone thought at one point lou pinella was the coach of the yankees only to find out they never fired torree lol. So lets wait

Re: Will he accept?

I don't think you have a choice. but wait. However don't preface ths SEC not making it in the NFL based on Spurrier and Saben. There are a few others that didn't make it. You gotta believe. If you are a Alabama fan, you have faith. You don't give up, as we want the best. Maybe you have a better soulution as to who.

im not knocking either as college coaches. Obviously spurrier and and saban are some of the best college coaches around if they weren't they wouldnt have champuonships just said the sucked in the nfl. Plus

Huizenga also told the newspaper he is convinced coach Nick Saban will remain with the team, despite persistent rumors that Alabama will offer him a lucrative offer to return to the college coaching ranks. Saban has repeatedly said he is not interested in coaching the Crimson Tide.
"If he didn't stay, it would be huge news to me," Huizenga told the Herald.

so do we go off alabama papers or the owner and what saban has said not once but twice

Huizenga aint gonna be the owner for long and that's why Saban is thinkin' Bama. In the NFL you get 2 to 3 years for a turnaround. Saban ha svoiced missing college ball, his wife hates Miami, the ownership is changing and he had a worse year this year than last year. Cap that off with a very aggressive offer from Alabama and some Miami fans already wishin he was gone and it leads one to think tha Bama job might happen. Oh yeah, two assistant coaches have been contacted by Saban camp about going to Bama. Tennessee Titan assistant told a close friend of mine 3 days ago it was a done deal. We'll find out tuesday! Take care!

I am sure he gets a lot more money at MIami than he could ever get at Bama ....

I can't see him changing ... to go back to college. He had one of the best jobs at LSU and went to the pros.

He will never be thought of better than the Bear ... so what is there to gain?

U can ask him a/f he takes the job

Coach Rod made the deal and went home. WVU came up with the cash at the last hour and he changed his mind. Got my facts str8 pal! This is standard issue stuff for head coach hiring if you've followed many. Rod would have been great. I was hoping for that one but it got hosed. Mal Moore dropped the ball by letting Rod get home without a signature. He told Moore done deal and went home. WVU did a good job keeping him. Hey, it's not done til it's done but there are good sources saying deals are being made at the assistant level. It could blow up though. We'll see Tuesday. Take care, Gann

There has been a contract written, whether Saben accepts it is anybody's guess, but, Moore has been in touch with the agent Jimmy Sexten 3 times over the last 10 days. Something is cooking.

Show me in my post where I said he signed. I said that was the problem, Mal let him get home without signing. He made the deal at 2:00 a.m. in Florida, said he would finalize the next day, went home worked WVU and got the deal he wanted there. The WVU folks said initially they couldn't come up with the cash then when he told them he was going to Bama they miraculously came up with it. He had been asking for facility upgrades because WVU is a dump and Alabama has the best facilities in the country. There was initially every indication that WVU wouldn't come up and he was gone. Sounds like both sides at WVU hosed each other to me. Either pay a guy what he's worth or get ready to lose him and they came close. They should have gone to him before he ever met with Bama and said we want you to stay and here's what we'll do. Instead they sat back to see how far he would go. Kinda Sh*&%y if you ask me!
