| Re: Pittsburg saying Bill Cowher may leave? Yes, Cowher is considering retirement - he bought a house in North Carolina. And yes, Alabama has a coaching vacancy. That's where I think the story stops. Cowher's not a legitimate candidate for the Crimson Tide coaching job. |

| Re: Pittsburg saying Bill Cowher may leave? There have been rumors on the radio around Cleveland that if Romeo fails they will try and contact Cowher for the Browns job. It was a call in show, but they dedicated a lot of time to it. |

| Re: Pittsburg saying Bill Cowher may leave? Cowher cannot coach another NFL team for 1 year if he leaves the Steelers so college would be his only option next year. |

| Re: Pittsburg saying Bill Cowher may leave? Well, Pittsburgh IS looking for a coach, because, as you said, Cowher's resigned. Miami, Arizona, Oakland and Atlanta have openings right now... Coughlin's future in New York seems to depend on whether or not he can win a playoff game. Romeo Crennel is safe in Cleveland, but he has to make wholesale changes to his coaching staff. Steelers are just hoping they'll be able to promote one of their two uber-assistants, either Whisenhunt or Grimm.

Didn't Ken Whisenhutt interview with Atl yesterday? |

| Re: Pittsburg saying Bill Cowher may leave? Well, a lot of teams are interested both in Whisenhunt and Grimm... that why many of us think Cowher moved up his retirement announcement from next Monday to yesterday, so that the team could try to swoop in and keep them. Not sure it's going to work, though. |
