According to his official bio, Martin was 23-3 in his first two seasons with the Grand Valley State Lakers program, including a D-II National Title and a 13-game winning streak at one point. He's 37. Not sure he's a fit for Bama, though... he doesn't seem to have a heck of a lot of coaching experience.

If you're going small school, why not Division III Mount Union head coach Larry Kehres. Granted, Kehres is 57, but he's won 8 national titles in 13 years and has 15 career undefeated seasons. Plus he's been named AFCA Division III National Coach of the Year seven times. Why not a guy like Kehres?

Since you are looking at other divisions why not coach Moore at Applachian State he just won back to back Div 1a titles. The problem is small schools have slower atheletes and the speed of the game isn't as fast. The SEC is the next step to the NFL. Each time you step up the learning curve is different

Did you see the championship game between Appl State and UMass. Nothing slow about those guys and Moore is a great coach

Missippi State ought to replace Croom with Moore. That would be a perfect fit.
