Some are saying that Tommy Bowden is scheduled to meet with Mal tonight. He is on record for saying he is not happy with what he is getting paid at Clemson. Also ESPN reported this but that is the only media outlet I have heard talk about it.

Don't know. Don't really know that much about him. I don't think he has ever had a losing season, but I do know he has not ever won anything. So, that would tell me he is probably a little more better than an average coach. It might just be clemson though. I know he is a good recruiter. He also sometimes chokes during the big game. So, with that in mind I don't think so.

Tommy Bowden? You've got to be kidding me! I'm an Alabama native and Clemson grad. He would never have the ability to bring Alabama to its traditional caliber. You do know that Rodriguez was the offensive coordinator under Tommy Bowden when he first came to Clemson. Rich left and it has been mediocre ever since. Yes, he does handle South Carolina most of the time which I believe is his only saving grace, but we are talking South Carolina. Not some powerhouse football team (at least not yet). Bama was crazy to let Shula go. There was a lot of image and foundation work needed since the Stallings era. He was on the right track. Wins come after the other stuff is completed. I hate to think of Bama rebuilding for 4 more years. No coach can come in with instant success, unless by luck or luck of the schedule. I have no suggestions for coaches, but Rodriguez would have been great. He's a good guy. You can't blame him for using it as leverage for higher pay at WV. Go BAMA!

I live 10 minutes from Clemson University. I grew up in Alabama but took a job in SC 4 years ago. Why go from a gutless coach to another gutless coach. Trust me i am around this program all the time ,Alabama is alot better off without Bowden. It has been all over the radio up here about him and Bama. It is time we go after a top notch no nonsince coach "PLEASE". Mal do us all a favor get Bama a we can love trust and follow to our "13" national title.

For one thing lest we all forget thier once was a Bobby Bowden who turned down the Alabama job years ago and his other son TERRY COACHED AT AUBURN. So why do we want a loser reject in Tommy? He cannot even win the ACC much less a national title. The ACC was so bad this year WAKE FOREST won it. So let's not even go there....
