The only reason why ‘Bama went this far with Rich Rod was because Nick Saban aparently thought the Tide was kidding with their 10-year, $57 million offer this week.

The new head coach of Alabama football will now be Rich Rodriguez, who is currently/will be formerly head coach of the University of West Virginia. At least we’re not the last ones to hire a coach… thank goodness.

This doesn’t mean that I like Mal Moore, though.

Analysis - Call it a hunch but I think this was the best decision Alabama could make and will turn out to be a better overall fit for the school than Spurrier or Saban would have been. I fully expect Alabama to be the best program in the SEC West in the next 3 years.
