He is Not Coming Back...

Lets just three things straight.
1. There will never be another Bear Byrant
2. Mike Shula is gone...and not coming back (as much as we all like him...he is fired...that means he is gone and is not coming back)
3. Mel Moore is Not going to be fired...see he is a AD which means him and all of his booster "buddies" are "cool" and the boosters do not want there "puppet" to leave...Even though a AD postion has to be done though the Deans Office....so THATS not happening....Mel is here to stay......

Re: Hey U -- Don't F with the Bear!!!!!!

Yeh, but he was sure -- REAL GOOD -- while he was there!!!!!!!!!!! Anybody today who had half of the discipline and desire that Bear had then would definitely be right back at the top. And 'Bama will find him and one day and we will reappear -- AT THE TOP!!!!!!!!! We have been down before, and yet just keep popping back up there again. And this is what has everyone in college football afraid. They all know 'Bama has been downtrodden before -- BUT IT AIN'T JUST BEEN GOOD AT ALABAMA BY THE BEAR -- and we will be back again. Count 'em my friend, and yes that is 13 National Championships. Banned from the Rose Bowl after whipping Army and USC in the '40's -- why? Because those underfed and scrappy little boys from 'Bama were supposed to travel by train all of the way across the country and be defeated -- BUT WE WON!!!!!!!!! Ditto the great teams in the 60's -- not to mention our twice defending undefeated team -- that was not granted a National Championship?????? And that Goal Line stand game against Penn State in '70's -- BAMA AT ITS BEST BABY!!!!!!!!!! And Stallings against Miami in 90's... Who is the next Great One??????? Will it be 2008, 2015 -- or when??????? Does it really matter???? We will be back!!!!! You see, my friend, I don't really expect you non-'Bamians to understand this -- BUT BEING ABOUT ALABAMA IS BEING ABOUT OUR TRADITION!!!!!!! I think the Bear used to say it was like loving your mama and daddy -- AND WE LOVE THEM JUST ABOUT AS MUCH AS WE LOVED BEAR and LOVE BAMA!!!!!!!!!!!! Long live the Bear and his tradition -- of WINNING -- that he built for us at ALABAMA. He always said it would kill him if he ever left football, and sadly for this -- TRUE STORY -- is that it did just that, as he died only 3 weeks after his retirement from UA. I went to Capstone, was there for a few our National Champions in '70's, attended #315, his last game at the Liberty Bowl, and shed tears like a family member had passed on the day Bear died (and Bear was family to millions). So, please don't criticize us for what you don't know. Bear will live on in the hearts and minds of us -- ALABAMIANS -- FOREVER!!!!! Down but not forgotten.......BAMA WILL BE BACK!!!!!!!!

misunderstood!!!!

First: im a Die-hard Bama Fan...
Second: Bear Bryant the the GREAT history of alabama is somthing to be proud of..and u are not a fan if u think that this program is only a few players away from a National Championship!!!!
I feel that people are to busy complaining bout the firing of Shula, instead people should be worried bout the players..the impact it is going to have on recuiting..and the impact on the program...

Alabama is a great coaching job...and the history is GREAT...they will find a great coach...but there will never be another Bear Bryant in the way of Wins and Loses record and the National Championships that him and his team won for the university of Alabama...there are too many GREAT players to have you second team in and beat the other schools first team!!! like the Bear did...aslo there will never be a coach with his record...

"Anybody today who had half of the discipline and desire that Bear had then would definitely be right back at the top."

I agree...but i guess im a Fan that likes in the REAL WORLD....and im sorry for that...Alabama needs a good coach...and they need to set their program in the Right Track...and right now it is not...they need a stable Coaching Job in the Nation...
Im sorry if anyone was upset with what i wrote but i didnt mean to take anything away from the Best Coach...Bear Bryant

ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!

Re: misunderstood!!!!

I hope the Alabama officials realize what you just laid out. Amazing, Hall of Fame coaches like Bryant rarely come along these days. But like you said, 'Bama is one of the great jobs in the nation and they will get a great coach one way or another.

Re: He is Not Coming Back...

I'm sorry if I banged on your head a little too hard there, "the Roll-tide," but I seem to have read your clip another way. And I suppose that I am just one of the proud Bama fans who is from the booneys, and grew-up with the Bear, and saw in the Bear in commonality with my surroundings which led me to the U of A in first place. I can see that you and I are different disagree on some things, like whether Mal Moore needs to be retained or not, but I really think he needs to GO! I will also say it again, that Alabama is not that far off from being a serious contender again, and this firing of Shula may be just another ill-timed set-back of our program. My gosh, friends, let's put somebody else on such a dire probation and cut scholarships for as many and long as Alabama and see how your program fares? And then bring another outside mistake in like Franchione or Price and see what this does to your program? Shula appeared after I had left but his heart was really with the Tide and its players. Had they just left him alone he would have had us back in another year. Rebuilding under a new coach again is now unfortunately the next order of business at Alabama. U-N-B-E-L-I-E-V-E-A-B-L-E!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
