Re: Where Does Shula Go?

I was againist Mike Shula being fired early on. I felt he needed another year to really show what he could do. I respect him as a person but have come to realize that his play calling was without creativity. He ran the same play in the red zone over & over again and it did not work. With time the opponent knew what Bama was going to before the ball was in the QB's hands. I realized he was not going to improve because he was not listening to anyone. He would be a great role model for the young men playing for Alabama but unfortunately never the winner Bama deserves. I believe Nick Saban is the Coach for the present. It does not matter if he only stays 2-3 years. He will make Alabama what it has been in the past. Also, does anyone notice that Saban's critics have really come out since Alabama has hired him. Maybe that's because they know Bama has a winner! It is sad that these people can't respect the man for what he is done. It is even sadder that some LSU fans find it necessary to dump on the man that rebuilt LSU into what it is today.

LOL. They'll be a foul odor in T-Town come Oct 20th. The smell of Rat Fink Fulmer's decaying carcass.

In case you hadn't noticed this just brings into focus the discrimination that Alabama has endured since the civil war. When we can be the best it just causes certain people to resent us just that much more. They want to pick on us like Chris Matthews of CNBC calling us a bunch of backward rednecks. They fear us because we don't have the money and resources they do yet we are still in contention. ESPN didn't believe that Alabama had 40 million to offer a coach and laughed when we did. But who's laughing now?

Sounds like a bunch of poor boys that can only talk the talk and not walk the walk. The people cutting Mike Shula down just wish they could have done as much as Mike Shula.

We walked the walk, alright. The "Walk of Shame". He made the record books as being the only coach in Tide history to lose 4 consecutive games to Auburn. The players and fans walked the walk and he walked straight to the bank.

Re: Where Does Shula Go?

In defense of Mike Shula, He did become the coach when it seemed no one esle would. He did bring some stablization to the team. He was an inexperienced head coach. We need to give credit where credit is due. Yes, he was no Nick Saban but who really thought he would be. There is cause to appreciate what he did for Alabama and there was reason to replace him. It seems to me that many of those who complain about Shula do really know what he did for Bama. Those who complain about his firing did not watch Alabama play week after week.

It will be five in a row after this year and you still have a coach smiling all the way to the bank, only this one will have to have help to carry the check. Im sorry BamaGal4ever, the only thing that has changed in Bama country is the size of the check.

I do realize that Shula took charge when nobody else was interested in helping Bama climb out of the hole but you hit the nail on the head, dgunny. He wasn't an experienced head coach. I believe if he had made some necessary changes instead of just talking about it, he'd still be here. There was definitely reason to replace him. I wish him the best.

Re: Where Does Shula Go?

The answer to the original question, "Where Does Shula Go?", is, Home where he should be!

Roll Tide with Saban.

Hey maybe he could take Lee Corso's job at ESPN! He certainly couldn't be any more boring or wrong.
