Ozzie Newsome wants AD job at Alabama

He said two years ago that it would behis dream job. Think about what this would do for Bama!

Two years ago is a long time ago

I'm sure he's satisfied with leading the Baltimore Ravens to the Playoffs and who knows how far.

I doubt he'll be interested in coming to 'Bama now.

The Ravens are what??? 9 & 2? Have a shot at getting back to the big bowl? Ozzie is staying put, believe me.

while this may be the case with the ravens...everybody can pretty much know for a fact that every football players' dream is to lead his college alma mater to a natl. championship in one form or fashion. i'm willing to bet that if the job was offered to him, he'd jump at the chance

Re: Ozzie Newsome wants AD job at Alabama

I would rather see him coaching some of these newfangled kids trying play receiver at Bama and diving to make their catches (just like he did in his day), while at the same time teaching them how to hold onto the ball. Ozzie was one of the best I have ever seen play, at any level, at making those fully outstretched horizontal catches. It had to hurt him like the dickens, but if the ball was anywhere near him he would do what it took to get to it first, and then seldom missed the catch. Ozzie was just a tough old school receiver who had both the height, speed and desire to accompany his natural skill set. These kids used at receiver today seem afraid or soft. Long live the Oz, but as a receivers (and not Head) coach!

I don't believe Ozzie will leave Cleavland Mal isn't dead.

Re: Ozzie Newsome wants AD job at Alabama

The only reason Mal Moore is allowed to remain at the helm of UA as AD is NOT because of his qualifications or skills at running an athletic department (because he really stinks at this!), but because he carries the most clout of all-time in fund-raising at the UA. Even though I despise Mal and his decisions and arrogance, I will admit that he is $$$GRAND$$$ when it comes to milking those rich alumn's or our well-heeled contributors to the UA of all the $$$ in their wallets. Unfortunately, I am not such a well-to-do alumn and can't afford the $$$MILLIONS$$$ that he seeks. Mal's approach to control of everything is what is ruining UA football and college sports in general...
