Re: Next Alabama Head Coach

How about a new everything, starting with a new AD.

I can't believe they fired Shula. What a bunch of short sighted idiots.

Mal Moore was a life time assistant and never could make a good decision. That why he was never a head coach.

FIRE MAL NOW!!!!!!!!!

Re: Next Alabama Head Coach

Bama does not need Spurrier. He has done his thing, wears the ring, is slowed down. BUT he would be better than a young untested as head coach person the way Shula was. Who ever in the world wanted to hire someone that was never a head coach before. Whoever that was, and I think I know, should be fired when all this dust settles. Please NEVER NEVER hire for Bama an unproved commodity. Mike Price would have been infinitely better than Shula. Shula was just too young and inexperienced (no experience at head coach). The pros knew that and is why he was not a head coach there. But glory be Bama didn't know that. Now fire ever who didn't need that.

Probably Petrino is the best bet right now. I don't care if he was at Auburn. Bama needs to quit that silliness about the coach has to have a direct connetion with the Bear. What rot. The coach at Bama needs a direct connection to the Winning, just like the Bear did when he came. And it is doesn't matter if the winning record is East Tim Buck Tu Tech. BAMA stop this crap NOW, get a proven winner, turn him lose, pay his assistants better than they can make anywhere else, then get rid of Mal Moore.

Realistically, a guy like that would be a great hire. The kind of guy who can inject some new energy into the program, and build for the long term. I wonder if there's pressure to try and bring in a big name, though, for appearances sake.

The latest news/rumors out of South Fla. have Leavitt going to Miami. Here in Virginia there are terrible rumors, (my hands tremble as I try to type this) that Frank Beamer has been approached about the Bama job...please say this isn't so. To make it even worse there are also rumors that Bud Foster my leave for Cincinnatti.

The thoght of Va.Tech losing the best defensive Coordinator in college football is mind numbing, but to suggest Beamer would leave is beyound imagining....I have to go hug my teddy bear now.

Re: Next Alabama Head Coach

Leavitt would be great. Pry him out of S.Fla. and get him up here. We need someone with a great future, not a glorious past.

I bet you would. Over my (and a whole lot of other Hokies) dead body.
I just can't imagine Frank leaving Va. Tech. OF course every one in Blacksburg is denying this, but you never know.

Re: Next Alabama Head Coach

Alabama needs to hire a Jimmy Johnson type head coach, a proven winner on college and pro levels. Mal should also loook to hire a coach with offensive flair with a win now attitude. Tired of takin sh!+ from my Auburn Fans....no matter how many times we lose they AUBURN still suckS
