Half Time Adjustments are not in his vocabulary. 2 wins in the SEC are enough to get any coach in the SEC fired. We lost the Arkansas game due to Shulas bad decision on field goal kickers. He had his #1 kicker kicking the ball off, but yet, he kept Van Tiffin in the game after he made a barrel of botched field goal attempts. And then he allowed Van Tiffin to attempt the missed extra point that eventually lost the game. If the Arkansas game does not convince you of his bad decision making, then four straight losses to Auburn in the Iron Bowl ought to clinch it for you. I would have been shocked if the Crimson Tide had not fired him this year!!!
I'm glad it wasn't just me who feels this way.

I don't know if you were replying to my comments concerning Moore but if so I am glad some one agrees with me. Moore is not the devil himself. We all have to realize Moore is dealing with the board of trustees and other alumni that are hendering the forward progress of this program. Moore knows just as well as anyone how things work at Alabama. Anyone who has superiors in the real world has to see were the actual problem is and I don't neccessarlly thing the problem lies in Moore's lap.

Re: Next Alabama Head Coach

i think thats a really good message. Spurrier always will be a florida coach. Thats really one of our rivals. Larry Coker would be a good fit but how long will it be before alabama fires another coach for one bad year??

I absolutely love Alabama football, and will be an Alabama fan until the day that I die - no matter what they do or who they hire. I love to see them win as much as the next guy. I love to see them beat Auburn AND Tennessee. I was going to school there during the last championship and would LOVE to see that happen again and again.

Also, I don't think that Shula was ready for Alabama. I don't think that he had enough energy, and I believe that he shouldn't have been so controlling with calling the plays and such. Our offensive line has been entirely too predictable and monotonous with Shula as coach. Not that this matters at all, but I did at least like him as a person.

All that being said, I am ashamed that this all basically boils down to one game - Auburn. Bear Bryant was at Alabama for right at 25 years and he didn't have a winning season every year. They let him ride it out through good seasons and bad, and look what he accomplished. As long as we keep changing coaches because we aren't beating Auburn like we should, we're going to continue to have weak recruiting and those so-so seasons when we're breaking in the new guy.

I say get rid of Mal Moore. Let the next coach do what he needs to do. Let him stick around long enough to build up some strong recruits.

Alabama is not going to jump into it's former glory in a season or two. It's going to take time to rebuild such greatness.
He would not have been fired if Bama had beaten Auburn!

But what got him fired was losing in Tuscaloosa to Sly Croom...and his Mississippi State Bull-dogs!

Re: Next Alabama Head Coach

The three e-mails that I received in rapid succession overnight from Alabama Alumni Association on Tuesday indicating that I should remain posted to my TV on Thursday and Friday to hear about Spurrier's 7-year $30-million contract was apparently just another ill-advised rumor of Mal Moore and his fellow croneys. Mal Moore should not have fired Mike Shula without some other mastermind genius of football already in-hand! Mal Moore's leadership of this athletic program bneeds to be studied and questioned. Moore should be the one to be fired. His judgement is failing our University!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Hoover's Probst should be Alabama's next Head Coach!

Oh, and one other thing, I understand that Probst and Hoover High Bucs won still yet another consecutive State playoff game in 6-A and are now in running for an unprecedented 5th consecutive State championship. If this guy is this good maybe we just need to throw him the keys and see what he can do. It would be a nice reunion of sorts for he and John Parker on same team again. (and to clarify, I am not a Hoover alum)

If you think Mal would hire a high 'Scruell' Coach after going hard after Spurrier and Saban, well.....he would fair better going back and re-hiring Shula Please....that is ludicrous, plus Probst cussed his team on National TV after a loss....and we in Birmingham/Tuscaloosa area don't care for a 'redneck' to take the reins!

Re: Next Alabama Head Coach

I do not care who gets the head coach job at Bama! Remember this, if he does not beat Auburn within a few seasons , he will be gone! What is it , in the past 24 seasons, 8 coaches!

Re: Next Alabama Head Coach

yeah, 3 left on there own and 2 were released due to scandal. So I believe that we "really fired" 4 coaches in 24 years. It is possible to say that all of those coaches that were fired were given a chance to win and didn't.

In the words of Tony Saprano, " what are you going to do"
