| Shula vs. Tiffin It was a disappointing Saturday for the Crimson Tide faithful such as myself. The question keeps arising in conversation: Who is to blame Shula or Tiffin? Well certainly some blame falls upon young Tiffin who missed 5 kicks Saturday but I also feel the majority of the blame falls upon Coach Shula. Inside the 15 with regulation time on the clock and Shula calls 3 Darby up the middle plays obviously playing for the unguaranteed 3 points. Shula stated in a write up I read in Sunday's paper that if he HAD have called a pass play and the ball was tipped and intercepted what would fans be asking him then? When first reading that comment...I started to see where he was coming from and in a small way still do, however, that shows NO CONFIDANCE in John Parker Wilson as a quarterback who had delivered a very satisfactory performance thus far when the decision to just take a dive and play for 3 was made and put all confidance in Tiffin who had already let us down once that day. Tiffin is a kid-he was obviously already shook. Mike Shula is the head coach of a program of Collegiate Football Excellence and the Crimson Tide Nation isn't going to keep standing by and watch him lose us football games playing this conservatively. |
